Job Title: Senior Category Manager
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Category Manager to work for our client within the energy sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to lead strategic procurement activities across enterprise technology categories, with a particular focus on ERP platforms and associated services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing procurement, programme, and stakeholder management support in line with business priorities, driving value delivery across categories, and ensuring robust commercial governance and compliance. This role requires strong expertise in ERP procurement, commercial negotiations, and executive stakeholder engagement within complex enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities across enterprise ERP software, services, and technology categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives and procurement governance requirements.
- Manage commercial negotiations with suppliers, driving value, mitigating risk, and securing favourable contractual outcomes.
- Develop and coordinate category demand forecasts, supporting procurement planning and value delivery across multiple workstreams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives, programme teams, and strategic suppliers.

About You
- Strong experience as a Category Manager or Senior Category Manager within technology and procurement environments.
- Extensive commercial negotiation experience, with a strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions relating to IT software and services.
- Proven SAP procurement experience, including procurement activities supporting SAP RISE ERP S/4HANA programmes and services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders, including executive and C-suite level engagement.
- Experience leading procurement, programme, and stakeholder management activities within large and complex organisations.
- Strong knowledge of procurement governance, compliance, supplier management, and value delivery methodologies.
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in technology procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or a similar commercial role.
