Procurement Leader
Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria or Preston, Lancashire. This role requires two days per week on-site in Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements—please speak to your recruiter about available options for this role.

Job Description
This role supports a long-term investment programme in the North West by leading sourcing and contracting activities. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and deliver commercially sound outcomes across construction projects.
Core Duties
- Lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting processes, including tender development, evaluation, and award
- Develop and implement procurement plans aligned with stakeholder requirements and programme objectives
- Provide commercial and supply chain support across delivery programmes
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and liabilities in procurement and contract strategies
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure best value and favourable contracts
- Ensure high-quality procurement and contractual documentation is maintained
- Support the development and implementation of supply chain strategies
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Hold line management responsibilities

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven supply chain or procurement experience within the construction industry
- In-depth knowledge of NEC and JCT construction contracts
- Strong understanding of procurement strategies, processes, and commercial principles
- Experience managing supplier performance and contractual relationships
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multiple levels
- MCIPS qualification (highly advantageous)
