Your new company

A reputable public-sector organisation in the heart of Sheffield is looking to appoint an experienced Procurement Manager for an initial period of 6 months. The organisation is working on some truly exciting projects across the Sheffield region, and it's a great time to get on board and be a part of the journey.

Your new role

  • The Procurement Manager will lead on high-value, complex end-to-end tender processes on a new project which has a positive impact on the people and communities of South Yorkshire.
  • The role will involve driving value for money and procurement best practice across the organisation, and will involve running competitive framework call-offs and full open market tender processes.
  • You will provide strategic procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders across the organisation and you will provide leadership to the wider procurement team.
  • You will also be managing high-value contracts and managing business-critical relationships with suppliers, so supplier relationship management skills are key for this role.
  • You will work collaboratively with internal teams to support procurement and contract management activities, all whilst ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23).
  • As the Procurement Manager, you will strive to develop process improvements which enhance the procurement service delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven background in UK public sector procurement, with a detailed knowledge of PA23
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and stakeholder management skills
  • Contract management experience
  • Experience of leading high-value tender processes independently
  • Able to commit to a 6-month contract
  • Willing to commute to the Sheffield office a minimum of 3 days per week
  • Excellent communication skills
