Procurement Manager | £54k-60k | Professional Membership Body | FTC (until Dec 2027) | Hybrid Working (1 day a week in Central London)

This Procurement Manager role is an exciting opportunity to join a professional membership body in a newly created position, driving procurement excellence across the organisation. This is a highly strategic and influential role, acting as the technical lead on procurement and working closely with budget holders and senior stakeholders to embed best practice, governance, and long-term value. You will play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, delivering cost improvements, and ensuring fit-for-purpose services across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of procurement objectives aligned to the organisation's cost improvement programme and wider strategic goals
  • Review, develop, and embed the Procurement Policy, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activity, including re-procurement of goods and services and supporting Requests for Proposal (RfP) processes
  • Partner with budget holders and stakeholders to provide expert advice, challenge, and commercially sound solutions
  • Develop and maintain a centralised contracts and procurement repository to improve oversight and reporting
  • Undertake commercial reviews of supplier relationships to ensure value for money and contract effectiveness
  • Lead on complex and high-value procurements, engaging external expertise where required
  • Design and deliver procurement training, frameworks, and tools to build organisational capability
  • Promote sustainable and ethical procurement practices aligned with organisational values
  • Develop and implement long-term procurement planning across the organisation

  • CIPS qualified or working towards qualification
  • Strong experience influencing and challenging senior stakeholders and budget holders
  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings, efficiencies, and value through procurement and contract management
  • Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, governance, and best practice, ideally within regulated or public sector environments
  • Highly organised self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
  • Ideally have some experience in non-profit, membership or trade union environment
