About the Role
At West Northants Council, it’s about our people and the difference they make. As a Procurement Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping us deliver high-quality services to our residents by providing expert procurement support across the organisation. Working within our Corporate Finance and Procurement team, you’ll help shape commercial decisions, support transformation projects and ensure public money is invested effectively and responsibly.

What will you be doing?
- Lead and manage a range of high-value and complex procurement projects, providing strategic advice to senior leaders and service areas across the Council.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop procurement strategies, lead tender processes, and ensure all procurement activity is compliant, efficient, and aligned with organisational priorities.
- Research market opportunities, identify innovative solutions, and support service areas in delivering value for money while managing commercial and legislative risks.
- Contribute to service redesign, transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives through strong business partnering.
- Support the development of procurement knowledge and capability across the organisation by mentoring colleagues, sharing best practice, and helping teams build confidence in procurement and commercial decision-making.

About You
- A commercially minded procurement professional with experience of delivering successful procurement projects in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of procurement legislation and strategic sourcing.
- Ability to develop innovative and effective procurement solutions.
- Enjoy building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and working collaboratively to solve problems and deliver results.
- Organised and adaptable, able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of governance, professionalism, and customer service.
- Commitment to delivering excellent services and embodying our THRIVE values in everything you do.
