Procurement Manager Sizewell C

Location: London, Manchester, Suffolk

Contract: Permanent, full-time.
Closing Date: Monday 27th July 2026

Your Impact

Reporting to the Civils Works Programme Commercial Lead (for Procurement), you’ll act as a commercial point of contact for procurement of mainly professional services, and governance and assurance. You will play a key role in ensuring the implementation of procurement governance and assurance across the Civils Works Programme procurement activities.

This role includes leading end-to-end tendering activity, shaping commercial strategy, managing supplier negotiations, managing papers through governance and assurance processes, and supporting a multi-discipline project team to ensure a ‘best for project’ outcome.

  • Excellent knowledge of best practice procurement policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrable track record of developing or working within procurement governance and assurance structures with supporting policy and processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to draft well-written governance papers and present/explain them in a clear and engaging way to stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of operational effectiveness in a sophisticated matrix structure coupled with project management expertise and the ability to drive for and exceed required goals.
  • Significant hands-on end-to-end procurement experience gained on large construction project procurements.
  • Proven track record of procurement in the set-up and mobilisation stage and/or delivery stage of major construction projects/Programmes.
  • Developing and supporting procurement and contracting strategies.
  • Preparing tender documentation and evaluating proposals.
  • Coordinating technical, legal, commercial and programme inputs.
  • Ensuring internal governance approvals are achieved on time for contract award.
  • You will also play a visible role in promoting good commercial practice, fairness in the supply chain and the project’s safety and quality standards.
  • There is scope for the role to expand as the project moves into more complex delivery phases.

About You

Due to the nature of the role, you must possess strong written and verbal communication skills along with the confidence to interface with a wide range of stakeholders, some at the most senior level within the company. The role will require you to be a self-starter with excellent communication and influencing skills. You will be confident working within a major infrastructure or engineering programme and comfortable handling high-value and technically complex transactions.

Experience:

  • Strong track record of procurement governance and assurance on large projects/Programmes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to draft well-written governance papers and present/explain them in a clear and engaging way to stakeholders.
  • Hands-on end-to-end procurement experience of professional services/similar contracts.
  • Experience of the NEC contract form and pricing models.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Clear understanding of contract governance, risk management and commercial assurance.
  • Experience working in a regulated or high-integrity environment.

Desirable:

  • Chartered or professional membership (MCIPS, RICS, ICE, CICES, IOB or equivalent).
  • Degree-educated.
  • Alliancing models/contract forms
  • Knowledge of the UK nuclear sector or other highly regulated industries.
  • Understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and commercial governance.
  • Ability to lead and support more junior commercial staff.
