Procurement Solicitor (1-4 PQE)

Location: Edinburgh

Firm: International Firm | Top Tier L500 Ranked Team

Salary: Highly Competitive + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

The Role & The Work

This is a unique opportunity to join a Tier 1 ranked Procurement team, widely recognised as a market leader, advising on some of the most significant and high-profile procurement matters across the UK and beyond.

  • You will play a key role in advising public bodies, utilities and private sector partners on complex, high-value procurement processes.
  • From shaping procurement strategy and advising on direct awards and contract modifications, to supporting the delivery of large-scale tender processes, your work will directly influence how major public and infrastructure projects come to life.
  • The practice spans a wide range of sectors including transport, energy and utilities, defence, healthcare and large-scale regeneration, offering exposure to work that is both commercially significant and societally impactful.
  • You will be involved in drafting and reviewing procurement documentation, supporting clients through live procurement exercises and advising bidders on strategic positioning.
  • You’ll also collaborate closely with a specialist disputes team, gaining insight into procurement challenges and high-profile litigation, and contributing to strategic risk assessment and resolution.
  • Operating within a fully integrated, multi-disciplinary environment, you will work alongside leading lawyers across areas such as construction, real estate, IT and outsourcing, giving you a holistic view of how large-scale projects are structured and delivered.
  • This is a team that combines technical excellence with a genuinely progressive and collaborative culture, where junior lawyers are trusted early, supported closely and given the platform to build specialist expertise and a strong market profile.

Your Experience

  • A Solicitor with strong Procurement experience (1–5 PQE)
  • Experience in, or a strong interest in, public procurement or utilities procurement law
  • Background in a commercial, regulatory or projects-related discipline
  • Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex matters
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Commercially aware with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Collaborative approach with ambition to specialise and progress
