Job Summary
Reporting to the Global Supply Manager, the Procurement Specialist is based in either Redditch or Kent and is responsible for strategic procurement activities across the business. Working as part of an integrated procurement team of four, the role operates on a multi‑site basis, providing procurement support across the Redditch, Margate and Bradford facilities as required. This approach ensures effective sourcing, optimal use of procurement resources, and the development of aligned sourcing strategies that combine spend, strengthen supplier relationships and deliver improved performance for all sites.
Responsibilities
- Support strategic sourcing and supplier development, identifying, onboarding, and managing suppliers to meet long‑term business, cost, quality, delivery, and innovation objectives.
- Drive cost optimisation and value engineering, analysing spend and market trends and partnering with Engineering and Operations to deliver sustainable cost‑down initiatives without compromising performance.
- Own commercial negotiations, contracts, and supply risk, ensuring supplier compliance, managing agreements, and proactively mitigating risks to secure continuity of supply.
- Optimise working capital and inventory, implementing LTAs, VMI/consignment models, MOQ and lead‑time improvements to reduce inventory and prevent excess or obsolete stock.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to support forecasting, capacity planning, and NPI, using SAP and analytics to align supplier capacity with demand and ensure scalable, low‑risk sourcing for new products.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
