Procurement Specialist Job Description

Partner with the Best

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely procurement of complex, high-value products and services. You will be responsible for executing purchasing strategies, driving supplier performance, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to support operational and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Managing procurement activities and purchase order execution for assigned suppliers.
  • Driving on-time delivery performance and ensuring materials are available to meet business requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and serving as the primary point of contact for procurement-related activities.
  • Identifying and resolving supply chain challenges, escalating issues when necessary, and communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with planning, engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure seamless order execution.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and implementing improvement plans to enhance delivery, quality, and cost performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with company sourcing policies, contractual requirements, and procurement procedures.
  • Supporting negotiations related to pricing, lead times, and commercial terms where applicable.
  • Analyzing procurement data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supplier management processes.
  • Managing multiple suppliers and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Keeping internal stakeholders informed of supplier performance, delivery risks, delays, and mitigation plans.

Fuel Your Passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have significant experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in managing suppliers of complex, long-lead-time, and high-value products.
  • Possess strong stakeholder management and supplier relationship skills.
  • Have experience coordinating multiple suppliers and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be skilled in problem-solving, negotiation, and driving supplier performance improvements.
  • Have strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in procurement and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence across functions.
  • Be comfortable working independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and strong commercial acumen.
  • Be willing to travel to supplier locations as required.
