Procurement Specialist
Permanent Vacancy: Procurement Specialist
Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 Location: Remote-based (with travel required in the Southwest—Dorset & Devon)
Sellick Partnership is pleased to partner with a growing not-for-profit organisation in recruiting a Procurement Specialist, driven by increased demand for their procurement services across the education sector.
This role is designed for a procurement professional with established experience seeking to advance into a more senior, impactful position within a mission-driven organisation. The team operates nationally, providing tailored procurement support that ensures compliance and maximises value for education providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities for clients, maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders in key areas such as:
- Researching, analysing, and reviewing client non-pay expenditure
- Producing full procurement activity reports
- Identifying, delivering, and securing category-wide savings
- Compile and maintain updated data on procurement activities to inform decision-making
- Conduct benchmarking and market testing to assess alternative suppliers and draft savings recommendations where appropriate
- Evaluate existing procurement processes, policies, and compliance regulations
- Draft procurement policies and value-for-money procedure notes
- Prepare all necessary documentation for tenders and requests for quotation, adhering to the Procurement Act 2023 timeline.
- Project manage procurement activities against agreed deadlines, escalating risks or delays to:
- The Procurement Manager
- Head of Service
- Client stakeholders
- Track and record savings performance against targets
- Ensure workplans and contract data remain current
- Produce monthly and termly progress reports
- Arrange and attend client and supplier meetings (on-site or virtual) to facilitate seamless engagement

Requirements
- Proven experience in public sector procurement or purchasing
- Ability to support end-to-end framework tenders
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- CIPS qualification or eligibility to study (training support available)
- Strong prioritisation and workload planning abilities
Travel & Location
The role is remote-based, but candidates must be willing to travel regularly to the Southwest region, covering Dorset and Devon.
