Procurement Business Partner – Contract Management and Sustainability

Overview

Our client is seeking a Procurement Business Partner – Contract Management and Sustainability to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This hybrid role is based in Swindon and offers the opportunity to support procurement, contract management, and sustainability activity within a purpose-led public sector environment.

The successful candidate will provide expert procurement and contract management support through a strong business partnering approach. The role will focus on supporting sustainability commitments, embedding effective contract management practices, and helping ensure procurement activity delivers commercial, social, and environmental value.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert contract management and procurement support to internal buyers and stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted business partner, supporting effective and compliant procurement activity.
  • Support the delivery of public sector sustainability objectives, including environmental and social value commitments.
  • Develop, embed, and maintain contract management practices that monitor supplier performance and support sustainability outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with procurement colleagues and senior stakeholders to ensure procurement activity aligns with relevant legislation, policy, and recognised best practice.
  • Help maximise commercial, social, and environmental value through effective procurement and contract management.
  • Support robust supplier management, risk management, and continuous improvement across procurement activity.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of procurement processes and best practice.
  • Understanding of sustainability within a public sector or regulated environment.
  • Experience or strong understanding of contract management principles.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to identify and manage risk.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid, collaborative environment.
