Procurement Specialist
Salary: £45,000 per annum Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Hybrid working / Bedford Hours: Full-time Closing Date: Applications reviewed on a rolling basis
About the Role
We are seeking a commercially minded Procurement Specialist to drive compliant, value-focused procurement activity and deliver insightful data-led decision-making.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this is an exciting opportunity to:
- Support delivery of procurement exercises
- Provide expert commercial guidance
- Strengthen governance, compliance, and value-for-money outcomes
Key Responsibilities

Supporting end-to-end procurement exercises, including:
- Tendering, evaluation, contract award, and mobilisation

Ensuring procurement activity complies with:
- Relevant legislation
- Internal policies
- Best practice

Analysing and presenting data insights on:
- Spend
- Contracts
- Supplier performance
- Compliance

Developing and maintaining:
- Procurement reporting tools
- Dashboards for stakeholders
- Assurance information

About You
We are looking for a proactive, analytical procurement professional with experience in regulated environments such as the public sector, housing, or similar governance. Required qualifications include:
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in procurement or commercial roles
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills with the ability to:
- Interpret complex data
- Present findings clearly
- Knowledge of procurement governance and regulatory requirements, preferably including awareness of:
- Procurement Act 2023 (advantageous)
- Experience supporting procurement exercises from:
- Planning stage to award
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
- Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities

Qualifications Beneficial
- CIPS qualification
- Active CIPS study
- Equivalent procurement experience
