Location: Aylesford, Kent
Company Salary: £42,000 - £48,000 per annum
Procurement & Supply Chain Manager
Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: 08:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday
Holiday: 20 days + bank holidays
Benefits: Pension contribution scheme, Christmas bonus scheme, Christmas shutdown
Role Overview
The Procurement & Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and purchasing goods and services from external suppliers to meet business requirements. The role oversees and optimises procurement processes, manages supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services that meet required standards.
The role also includes responsibility for the internal stores function, ensuring efficiency and integrity of stock control systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify procurement needs across the business and manage direct procurement of raw materials, resources, goods, and services for manufacturing operations
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Prepare and manage procurement budgets in line with financial objectives
- Oversee the full procurement process including purchase orders, approvals, and delivery timelines
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to prevent disruption
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure procurement requirements are aligned across the business
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Track and analyse key performance indicators to drive cost reduction and efficiency
- Monitor industry trends and developments to improve procurement strategy

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar role
- Ideally CIPS qualified (or working towards)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Excellent understanding of procurement principles and supply chain processes
- Experience with inventory and stock control systems
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with previous man-management experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
- Relevant professional memberships desirable
- Strong IT skills
- Commitment to health, safety, and compliance in the workplace
