Permanent, full-time £40,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience Location: Reading
Reading Rep Theatre is looking for a Producer to join us at an exciting moment in our development.
We are a young and ambitious producing theatre with a growing body of our own work and a pipeline of bold projects, including in-house productions, co-productions, new writing, festive shows, visiting work, and touring.
About the Role
This is a senior producing role for someone who can take a project from early planning through to delivery. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the full journey of each production, managing budgets, timelines, and logistics.
- Artistic contribution, including:
- Artistic programming
- Script feedback
- Artistic development
- Assembling and managing creative teams
- Maintaining partnerships with artists, freelancers, and organisational partners.
- Ensuring the project stays focused on both artistic and practical success.
We are seeking a producer who is organised, collaborative, and able to balance detail with strategic vision, while being calm under pressure and proactive in managing projects.

About You
We are looking for an experienced theatre producer with:
- A proven track record of delivering professional theatre productions, including managing budgets, timelines, and creative teams.
- Experience partnering with artists across various disciplines and ensuring inclusivity in creative processes.
- A commitment to accessibility and anti-ableism, working to embed these values into the production and organisational culture.
- A flexible, resilient, and forward-thinking approach to managing projects and team dynamics.
Practical Details
- Hours: 35 hours per week (excluding lunch)
- Working pattern: Some evenings and weekends required, aligned with production schedules. Flexibility will be managed where possible to support careers and personal commitments.
- Salary range: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
(Note: Overtime payments do not apply, but flexibility in schedules will be negotiated to meet production needs.)
