Product Analyst (Product Analytics) – SumUp Consumer
About the Team
SumUp is renowned for helping small businesses get paid. Our Consumer tribe focuses on the other half of this ecosystem—building SumUp Consumer, the wallet app where everyday consumers can:

As the Consumer team scales globally and introduces new features, sharp, reliable insights into customer behaviour become even more critical. We’re seeking a Product Analyst to act as the trusted analytical partner for SumUp Consumer, collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and our Analytics Engineering team to: ✔ Understand consumer behaviour ✔ Shape product strategy ✔ Measure what truly matters

What You’ll Do
Be the data-driven voice of SumUp Consumer by:
- Analysing customer behaviour and product performance using advanced techniques:
- Funnel analysis
- Cohort analysis
- Segmentation
- Behavioural tracking
- Supporting Product Managers in crafting customer journey, engagement, conversion, and retention strategies
- Conducting exploratory data analysis to uncover answers to critical business questions,bridging gaps between theory and actionable insights.
- Defining, tracking, and communicating core SumUp Consumer KPIs, including:
- Activation metrics
- Engagement trends
- Retention rates.
- Evaluating feature impact through post-rollout analysis.
- Designing, executing, and interpreting A/B tests and product experiments to foster a culture of experimentation
- Building and maintaining new dashboards and reports, proactively identifying trends and opportunities before demand arises.
- Partnering with Analytics Engineering to ensure: -Robust KPI definitions -Scalable business logic -Accurate product instrumentation
- Exploring AI/ML applications, including LLM-assisted analysis, to accelerate insight generation and product measurement.
- Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Data teams to ensure every decision is grounded in customer insight.

You’ll Thrive Here If…
✅ Technical Proficiency:
- Strong hands-on SQL experience for querying, analysing, and validating data in cloud warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Experience with modern data tools including databases, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
✅ Product Analytics Expertise:
- Deep familiarity with:
- Funnel, cohort, and segmentation analysis.
- A/B testing methodology and statistical validation.
- Track record of data-driven product impact through experimentation.
✅ Visualisation & Storytelling:
- Ability to craft clear, stakeholder-friendly reports in tools like:
- Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
✅ Problem-Solving & Curiosity:
- A passion for uncovering unexpected insights through responsible experimentation and modern techniques like AI-driven analytics.
- Proactive mindset with a knack for spotting regional or market-specific patterns.
✅ Collaboration & Communication:
- Strong multi-stakeholder management abilities.
- Comfort juggling multiple projects while maintaining clear communication and prioritising initiatives effectively.
