Product Analyst
Product Analyst – SumUp Consumer
About the Role
SumUp is best known for helping small businesses get paid—our Consumer tribe builds the other half of that story with SumUp Consumer, a wallet app that lets everyday consumers pay merchants on a tap, send money to friends, track spending, and earn loyalty rewards.
As our product scale accelerates, so does the need for sharp, reliable insights into consumer behaviour. As the Product Analyst, you’ll sit at the intersection of data and product, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and the Analytics Engineering team to:
- Understand customer journeys
- Shape product strategy
- Measure what matters
This role is for you if you’re driven by meaningful analytic work, enjoy translating complexity into clarity, and want your insights to directly influence product decisions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct funnel, cohort, segmentation, and behavioural analysis to identify opportunities and drive product improvements
- Support Product Managers in understanding customer journeys, engagement, conversion, and retention, informing strategy and priorities
- Perform exploratory analysis to answer product/business questions, delivering clear, actionable recommendations
- Define, monitor, and communicate SumUp Consumer KPIs (activation, engagement, retention) and assess product change impact
- Design, execute, and analyse A/B tests and experiments, fostering an experiment-driven culture
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports, proactively surfacing trends before they’re requested
- Partner with Analytics Engineering to ensure KPI accuracy, scalable product instrumentation, and trusted data logic
- Explore AI and machine learning techniques (including LLM-assisted analysis) to enhance insight generation
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure decisions are grounded in robust analysis

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
