Product and Data Analyst
At Shape Underwriting, we’re not just underwriting risk - we’re building products, platforms, and a business that can scale.
That means constantly evolving how our products perform, how our systems work, and how we use data to make better decisions.
This role sits right at the centre of that.
You’ll join Shape Digital, where underwriting, data, and technology come together - learning how insurance products are built and traded, and how platforms bring them to life.
From there, your role quickly grows. You won’t just be producing reports - you’ll be helping to improve products, spot opportunities, and influence decisions across the business.
If you want to do more than just analyse data, this is a role where your work will actually shape outcomes.
Where you fit
Shape Underwriting is a specialist MGA within Clear Group, focused on delivering innovative products and exceptional service to brokers and their clients.
Shape Digital is how we make that happen.
It’s the team responsible for building and evolving our trading platforms - turning underwriting expertise into scalable digital products, and using data to continuously improve performance and the broker experience.
You’ll be working right at that intersection - data, product, and underwriting - with real exposure to how a growing business operates.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

What you’ll be doing
Your role will evolve as you build confidence, but early on you’ll focus on:
- Supporting product builds - from research through to testing and launch

As you develop, you’ll move into:
- Analysing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities

- Helping shape how data is used across the business
This isn’t just about reporting numbers - it’s about understanding what they mean, and what we should do next.
