Technical Product Manager – International Consumer Bank (Digital Reliability) – JPMorgan Chase

About the Role
As a Technical Product Manager within our International Consumer Bank’s International Division, you’ll champion reliable and resilient digital consumer banking products. This is more than managing features—it’s shaping how our engineering teams anticipate, prevent, and recover from failures while ensuring stellar customer service.
Key Purpose
Driving the strategy and delivery of reliability-focused product capabilities, including:
- Advanced observability and incident practices
- Automated recovery and resilience safeguards
- Developer experience enhancements for more efficient workflows
- Proactive reliability risk mitigation
You’ll work cross-functionally in a high-growth, globally distributed team that embraces curiosity, collaboration, and a data-driven approach. Responsibilities

Define and hajves platform reliability, reducing operational friction and building scalability into digital banking products. Own the vision for standards, metrics, and practices that enhance end-to-end observability, incident response, and autonomous recovery.

Bridge product and engineering teams, translating business needs into measurable reliability goals. Triage incident-postmortems and operational hurdles, transforming learnings into actionable roadmap items.

Drive data-informed decisions: Analyze patterns in etwork failures, SLO deviation, and usage metrics to guide risk investments. Partner with Site Reliability Engineers to design tools that support empirical, reproducible outputs.

Advocate for clearly scoped outcomes: Craft roadmaps, enter and milestone plans aligned to both commercial priorities and stakeholder dependencies. Prioritize features that reduce cognitive load for engineers while reducing customer impact.

Facilitate Agile ceremonies with flair:
- Standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, with a sharp emphasis on sprint hygiene (e.g. ticket grooming, dependency coordination).
- Own the AWS Agile standards for Jira boards—including dependencies, timelines, and escalation paths.

Train and mentor engineers on reliability best practices, incident ownership, and scalability frameworks. Champion developer experience by reducing technical debt in incident tools, observability schema, and alerting systems.

✔ Software engineering foundations—proven proficiency from training/coal experience for conceptual debates (e.g., APIs, microservices, cloud architectures), CI/CD pipelines, and stopliability models.
✔ Stakeholder agility: Confidently discussing technical decisions, explain architectural trade-offs to product managers, and de-start complex trade-offs between cost, latency, and scrutiny.
✔ Empathic communication: Translate highly technical definitions of quality (latency standards, entry thresholds, or cost estimates) into business-justified investments.
✔ Full-cycle incident ownership: Recorded hands-on experience with on-call rotation, root cause analysis, or data-driven impact tracking for major outages or near-misses.
✔ Product discovery: Identify patterns in service churn, incidents per hour, or modified developer feedback to spotlight reliability friction. Have a bias for action.
✔ Collaborative project management: Plan, organize, and repeat with minimal disruption across geopolitical contexts and evolving platform needs. Excel in Miro, Jira, and asynchronous discourse.
✔ Active decisiveness: Enhanced with frameworks based on both analytical frameworks (liability metrics) and empirical decomprishments.
✔ Agile mastery: Backlog optimization, sprint planning, and retrospective design experience. Familiarity with hybrid teams and co-design practices.
✔ Adaptability to AI: Proficient decision quality when relying on AI tools, as refined iteratively with sensitivity for delivery impact and ethical controls.
