Product Certification Engineer
Location: Stroud
Salary: Experience Dependent + Bonus + Private Medical
An exciting opportunity to join a highly respected engineering technology organisation developing advanced industrial instrumentation and measurement solutions used across critical industries worldwide. Working within a collaborative R&D environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring innovative products achieve and maintain certification for global markets while supporting the development of new technologies.
The Role
As a Product Certification Engineer, you'll manage certification and regulatory compliance activities throughout the entire product lifecycle. Working closely with engineering, project management, manufacturing, and external certification bodies, you'll help bring technically advanced products to market while ensuring compliance with international regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities - Product Certification Engineer
- Lead certification activities for new products from concept through to market launch.
- Prepare and submit technical files, test reports, and certification applications.
- Act as the key contact for notified bodies and regulatory authorities.
- Support the creation of Declarations of Conformity and regulatory documentation.
- Maintain product approvals and certification validity throughout the product lifecycle.
- Manage compliance records and certification tracking systems.
- Provide regulatory and certification guidance to product development teams.
- Ensure certification requirements are integrated into product design activities.
- Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives related to compliance and certification processes.

Experience & Qualifications - Product Certification Engineer
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience in a Product Certification, Compliance, Regulatory, or Product Safety role.
- Strong understanding of international product compliance and certification processes.
- Experience working with CE Marking, ATEX, and DWD
- Knowledge of UK, EU, and international regulatory requirements.
- Experience liaising with notified bodies, testing laboratories, and certification organisations.
- Ability to interpret technical standards and apply them within product development environments.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience within instrumentation, industrial electronics, automation, manufacturing, or regulated engineering sectors would be advantageous.
