Product Cyber Resilience Manager
Location: Edinburgh (with hybrid working options) Salary: £60,000 to £80,000 Contract Type: Permanent ** Team:** Radar and Advanced Targeting (RATs) at Leonardo UK
About the Role
Ready to influence next-generation Defence technology and safeguard the UK’s most advanced systems? As a Product Cyber Resilience Manager, you’ll drive security strategy from concept to delivery, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and champion a culture of robustness in our Integrated Sensing products. Your expertise will shape product integrity while addressing emerging technical challenges—helping Leonardo define the resilience of tomorrow’s defence tech.
Key Responsibilities
Security Strategy & Risk Management
- Lead the creation of Product Security Risk Assessments, risk mitigation strategies, and cybersecurity documentation (e.g., Security Management Plans, provisioning of solution hardening guidelines).
- Collaborate with System Design Authorities (SDAs) and Integrated Product Teams to define and embed security requirements across the development lifecycle.
- Advise engineering teams on implementation standards, threat modelling, and compliance frameworks to achieve defined cybersecurity objectives.
- Support security accreditation processes—bridging gaps between Security Accreditors and internal Security Assurance Coordinators.
Standards, Best Practices & Collaboration
- Engage in internal/external working groups (e.g., with academic institutions) to advance Product Cyber Rescheme standards aligned with emerging frameworks. -Drive continuous improvement in the engineering capability, integrating cyber resilience into product design, verification, and through-life support.
- Liaise with Leonardo’s Cybersecurity Business Unit, applying defense-in-depth and zero-trust principles to embedded systems.

Ownership & Accountability
- Manage the product security risk for allocated product families within the Electronics Business Unit, reporting to and providing risk guidance for relevant System Design Authorities.
- Align product cyber resilience objectives with engineering teams to ensure architecture and design mitigate identified risks. -Play a critical role in system validation, compliance verification, and ongoing support to transition products into operations securely.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in product security assessment or risk management systems for complex, regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, nuclear, automotive, rail, or defence systems).
- Practical knowledge of system development lifecycles (SDLC, V-models, Agile frameworks) and their security implications.
- Hands-on experience in information security management, covering:
- Risk assessment, threat modelling, vulnerability management
- Incident response, compliance gaps, and remediation
- Strong familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, including:
- ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ITAR TAA compliance
- UK/NATO information assurance/accreditation models
- MITRE ATT&CK and CMMC (or related advanced security standards)
- Experience with embedded system security controls and mitigation techniques for hardened environments.
Desired
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, CISSP-CISM, or other defense/cybersecurity-tiered certifications.
- Exposure to cybersecurity tools (SIEMs, IDS/IPS, DLP, endpoint protection solutions).
- Understanding of ITAR controls and multi-national collaboration in clearly regulated contexts.
