Role Description
Würth Elektronik is hiring a Product Definition Engineer to cover the UK, Ireland, and Northern Europe. This is a field-based position: you will regularly visit semiconductor partners across the UK and Ireland, and in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia a few times per year.

There is a Manchester office where the UK branch is based, however this role is also open to those who are not local to Manchester as it is field-based.
You will work with leading semiconductor companies — including Analog Devices, onsemi, Renesas, Nexperia, Microchip Technology, Power Integrations, and NXP — to integrate WE components into their public reference designs and evaluation boards. You will be part of the IC Support Team EMEA, collaborating with colleagues across Germany and France, and with global counterparts in the USA and Asia.
Below are a selection of the main tasks expected of the role:
- Design-In & Technical Support: Visit semiconductor partners regularly, provide technical training on Wurth Electronics products and drive Wurth Electronics component integration into reference designs.
- Technical Marketing: Identify key applications in your territory and support the creation of technical materials (application notes, webinars, demos, online content etc).
- Market & Trend Analysis: Gather product gap intelligence from partner interactions, assess market viability and feed findings into our product development process.
- Testing & Benchmarking: Quarterly benchmarking of power supply boards using Wurth Electronics inductors, producing structured reports. Advanced profiles may extend to EMC, stability or layout optimisation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Electronics, or similar) or equivalent technical qualification.
- Background or strong interest in power electronics and/or magnetics.
- Autonomous, well organised and comfortable owning a large territory independently.
- Strong communicator and confident presenter in front of technical audiences.
