Product Design Engineer

At Koalaa

We believe everyone in the world should have access to comfortable, desirable, and affordable prosthetic limbs. To achieve this goal, we design and make comfortable prosthetic limbs that fit like clothing, can be sent through the post, and cost less than a smartphone.

We are seeking a Product Design Engineer who will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, from concepts and rapid prototyping to user testing and manufacturing preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rapid Prototyping: Utilise in-house tools - including 3D printers, CNC machines, and sewing/textile equipment - to build physical prototypes for design validation.
  • CAD & Modeling: Create and optimise detailed 3D models
  • Textile Goods Development: Collaborate on the design of textile interfaces, prioritising user comfort and anatomical fit.
  • Human-Centred Testing: Assist in user testing with individuals with upper limb differences. Analysing qualitative and quantitative feedback to iterate design.
  • Mechanical Analysis: Perform, analyse and report on physical and simulated mechanical tests on design components inline with specifications
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Optimise components for scalable manufacturing processes like injection molding or high-yield 3D printing, and standardise textile patterns for production.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
