About Ondato

Ondato is a leading provider of identity verification, compliance, and KYC solutions, helping businesses streamline onboarding processes and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

We’re expanding our team with a Product Design Lead to drive the user experience and design quality across our platform, blending hands-on design with leadership to craft intuitive, trustworthy, and efficient experiences for fintechs, platforms, and regulated businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the design strategy, aligning it with product and business goals.
  • Oversee the full product design process, from research and discovery through prototyping, testing, and delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineers, and customer-facing teams to embed design seamlessly into development and value delivery.
  • Deeply understand customer needs through:
    • Research, interviews, and usabilty testing
    • Data analysis to guide design decisions and product improvements
  • Advocate for design excellence, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Build and escalate Ondato’s design system, ensuring scalability, accessibility, and quality across products.
  • Establish and enforce UX/UI standards and best practices, fostering customer-centric decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing design team, cultivating innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Measure the impact of design on user engagement and satisfaction, using data and experimentation to inform choices.
  • Leverage AI tools and modern workflows to accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, and validation.

Requirements

You should have:

  • 5+ years of mastery in UX, UI, or Product Design, ideally in SaaS, fintech, regtech, or complex digital products.
  • 3+ years in a design leadership role, including team management and design strategy development.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing:
    • Product thinking
    • Design craft
    • User-centred problem-solving
    • Measurable business impact
  • Hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle (concept to launch), understanding challenges at every stage.
  • Expertise in:
    • Interaction design
    • Information architecture
    • Visual design principles
    • Usability fundamentals
  • Proven ability to:
    • Lead customer workshops and discovery sessions
    • Translate complex needs into actionable design solutions
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems.
  • Capacity to balance customer priorities, business goals, technical constraints, and regulatory compliance.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with persuasive influence across diverse audiences.
  • A curious, ownership-driven mindset, critical thinking, and passion for intuitive design of complex products.
