Royal Mail Farringdon
Product Designer
At Royal Mail, we're transforming the way millions of customers interact with our products and services. As we continue our journey towards becoming a more customer-centred, product-led organisation, we're building a modern digital design capability that puts user needs at the heart of everything we create.
We're looking for a Product Designer to join our growing Design Centre of Excellence and play a key role in designing intuitive, accessible and engaging digital experiences across our web and mobile products.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on designer who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and helping to build design maturity in an organisation undergoing significant digital transformation.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Product Designer, you'll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Analysts, and Service Designers to create outstanding digital experiences from concept through to delivery.
You'll:
- Design end-to-end customer journeys and product experiences across web and mobile platforms.
- Translate customer insights, business needs, and user feedback into intuitive, accessible solutions.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
- Conduct and support user research activities, including customer interviews and usability testing.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure designs are implemented effectively and iterated based on learning and feedback.
- Apply and contribute to design systems, patterns, and reusable components to drive consistency.
- Partner with Service Design and Analytics teams to ensure decisions are informed by customer needs, service understanding, and data-driven insight.
- Champion great design practices and help raise product design maturity across teams.
- Contribute to the growth of Royal Mail's Design Centre of Excellence through continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
What We're Looking For
We are interested in talented Product Designers who combine strong UX thinking with excellent visual design skills and enjoy working in agile, product-focused environments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
