To strengthen our dedicated team at our Hetton-le-Hole site, we are looking for a:

Product Developer UK

In this role, you'll drive business growth by developing high-quality, cost-effective liquid and powdered blended products for national and international customers across manufacturing, food service and retail. Working closely with our Sales, Marketing, Technical and Operations teams, you'll turn customer briefs into innovative, on-trend solutions that are compliant, factory-ready and built to exceed expectations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop practical, cost-conscious formulations in response to customer briefs, with a focus on organoleptic and functional performance
  • Collaborate with Technical, Procurement and Process teams to ensure compliance with customer, industry and legislative requirements
  • Work with Operations to validate that formulations are scalable and fit for efficient, consistent production
  • Provide thorough handovers to Specification and Technical teams to enable accurate labelling and factory documentation
  • Create samples and oversee sample production to assess formulation suitability
  • Engage with suppliers to stay ahead of ingredient technology, functionality and innovation
  • Support customer-facing presentations, complaint resolution and product investigations
  • Contribute to market benchmarking and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities

What You Bring

  • Degree in Food Technology or a related field (desirable)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a factory-based development, process or technical role
  • Strong sensory awareness and a creative, innovative mindset
  • Experience in customer and/or supplier-facing environments
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
