Product Development Assistant, Fred Perry

Founded by Triple Wimbledon champion Fred Perry in 1952, the brand is now a global community of over 370 employees, united by its commitment to inspiration and craftsmanship. Part of a dynamic cross-business team, this role will see you contribute to every stage of Product Development—from creating conceptual designs to executing global launches.


Purpose

Collaborate with teams across multiple disciplines, ensuring hassle-free product development while keeping timelines aligned with the Business Critical Path. This is a fast-paced role where adaptability and a collaborative mindset are key.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Product Team in developing styles as defined in the Business Plan
  • Keep the product critical path up to date (from prototype samples to salesman samples, Red Seal approval) while meeting deadlines
  • Work within Product Teams to compile and maintain product specification packs throughout development
  • Manage the internal system (FPLi), issuing and maintaining style numbers, colour codes, product descriptions and analysis codes
  • Assist in sourcing seasonal fabrics, yarns and trims
  • Coordinate effectively with Design, Quality, Planning and Marketing teams
  • Organise and manage the procurement and return of samples from suppliers
  • Conduct comparative shopping analysis (in-store and online) to support research, development, and price sign-off
  • Assist various teams with lab dips, lab dip charts and organisation
  • Ensure imagery and product information accuracy for the quarterly sales brochure
  • Attend UK Trade Shows, Fabric Fairs and supplier visits as required
  • Support the setup and execution of quarterly Global Sales Exhibitions
  • Develop Seasonal SMUs (Standard Maintenance Updates) as needed

The Person

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar role involving collaboration with multiple departments (including Product Teams)
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and manage workloads across different timeframes
  • Strong sense of ownership, collaborative mindset, and enthusiasm for product development
  • Comfortable working independently and creatively within a fast-paced environment

Hours & Working Pattern

Fred Perry offers flexible working shifts to promote a healthy work/life balance. Core hours are 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM, allowing flexibility in start/end times (e.g., 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM). Fridays include a 30-minute early finish.
