Product Director

Product Director – Platform & AI

Location: Wilmslow (minimum 3 days office), UK (global remit) Reports to: Group Chief Product Officer

Overview

Citation Group supports over 120,000 SMEs across the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada with non-core business needs, such as HR and employment law, health & safety, ISO certification, background screening, cybersecurity, and e-learning. Their mission is to build better businesses to create a better world.

Currently, customers purchase individual solutions from their portfolio. However, their ambition is to connect these solutions into a single, intelligent platform.

  • Atlas – The customer portal uniting their products.
  • Unity – The single login gateway (one identity, one access point) for all Citation products. Over 40% of clients use it, but integrating the rest and improving product integration remain key product challenges for the next few years.

The next major step? Atlas.AI – an intelligent layer that will transform their offerings. Instead of requiring SMEs to use separate tools for HR, safety, and certification, Atlas.AI will:

  • Understand the customer’s entire business and work across all areas.
  • Anticipate risks, highlight what matters, and act on behalf of the business.
  • Turn standalone solutions into a single intelligent partner, growing smarter as it scales.

This is a greenfield build—the person in this role will:

  • Design, build, and deliver Atlas.AI from the ground up.
  • Lead the **technical **architecture and execution of the platform layer underpinning Citation’s future.

Critically, this role owns end-to-end ownership of:

  • Atlas/Unity/Ecommerce,
  • Shared Design functions, and
  • Product Operations (analytics, AI-native strategy, and workforce enablement).

This is one of the most consequential roles in Citation’s product organisation.

Why This Role? Why Now?

Build a Game-Changing Product

Atlas.AI marks the most ambitious strategic bet—a next-generation compliance and business-services software standard. With strategic direction shaping up, the successful candidate will:

  • Define where the product and industry is going.
  • Own design and delivery, transforming client experiences for 120,000+ SMEs.
  • Position Citation as a leader in AI-driven business software.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Unify the Platform (Unity)

  • Unity adoption is still low (60% lagging). You will own integration of all Citation products behind a single gateway and drive scalability of Unity’s impact.

Reshape Product Work

  • AI will reshape work across industries.
  • You will define how Citation adapts product strategies, tools, and team enablement.
  • Lead AI activation, upskilling teams, and adoption—not just theoretical experimentation.

Senior Cross-Business Strategist

  • As a member of product leadership, reporting to the CPO, you’ll:
    • Work across all units to align platforms, integrations, and new ways of working.
    • Partner directly with product leads for each solution.
    • Shape Citation’s evolution into a modern, AI-driven software enterprise.

What You’ll Be Doing

Design and Deliver Atlas.AI

  • Turn strategic vision into a live product.
  • Build a self-improving AI layer that delivers end-to-end business intelligence—not just disparate tools.
  • Lead AI implementation from concept to scalability, ensuring it exceeds market expectations.

Steward the Atlas Platform

  • Keep Unity best-in-class as a core multi-brand SSO platform.
  • Drive adoption among 60%+ remaining clients via seamless integrations.

Lead Shared Design (UX/UI & Research)

  • Oversee design systems, quality, and research (across HR, safety, compliance, and more).
  • Ensure products maintain consistency, coherence, and high standards.

Invent AI-Native Product Operations

  • Run strong product analytics, trend analysis, and insight capabilities.
  • Redefine Citation’s AI-native operating model—chunking discovery, design, development, and delivery for the AI era.
  • Upskill and onboard the whole product team—promoting real-world tool adoption over surface-level play.

Work横跨整个商业版图

  • Bridging technical teams, commercial stakeholders, and multi-brand ownership authority.
  • Drive commercial alignment with internal product leaders and investors.
