Company Overview

AI is driving data center power consumption to more than double, from ~460 TWh today to a projected 1,000 TWh by 2030. Hyperscalers and AI companies are racing to secure compute capacity while new grid connections in major markets are years out. Meanwhile, existing infrastructure remains underutilized, managed through outdated models ill-suited for power-dense workloads.

At Zendo, we’re developing the operating layer that maximises the value of every watt. Our Energy OS platform integrates operational data, energy intelligence, and proprietary load forecasting across the data center power stack to help operators access more capacity faster.

In just months, we’ve achieved significant momentum:

  • Raised £2M+ in pre-seed funding from Fly Ventures, Pact, and Octopus Ventures, backed by angels from companies like Google.
  • Live with multiple UK data center customers, with growth pipeline across the market.
  • Founding team draws on expertise from ex-Octopus Energy, Square, and Meta.

This role offers the chance to join us early, collaborate closely with the founders, and accelerate our mission to shape the next generation of energy infrastructure for AI.

Your Role as Product Engineer

As a Product Engineer, you’ll work directly with our Founding Engineer (ex-Meta) and co-founders to drive the customer-facing offerings of Zendo’s platform. Your focus will be on bridging the gap between complex energy data and actionable insights for data center operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capacity Allocation Platform: Lead the development of our core product to feature-completion, empowering operators to manage and monetise capacity confidently. Enhance the product to handle advanced allocation scenarios and the shifting demands of AI tenants.
  • Operator-Tenant Orchestration: Build a dynamic layer that bridges operators with AI tenants, enabling real-time capacity requests, allocation, and signalling.
  • Interface & UX Design: Shape the user experience—simplifying complex energy data into intuitive workflows for data centre operators.
  • API Design & Implementation: Develop scalable and robust APIs supporting our orchestration layer, enabling programmatic interaction with capacity data.
  • Live Customer Collaboration: Work hands-on with live customers on real operational data from day one, leveraging agile iteration cycles to refine product capabilities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
