Product Engineer

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity within a leading engineering manufacturer for an experienced and pro-active Product Engineer to develop, implement and maintain best practice through all product engineering activities within their CNC Tooling environment. You will be fully relied upon to apply your comprehensive understanding of production planning, control and basic manufacturing systems.

The Role:

  • Ensure the product and process area is always evolving in a state of continuous improvement, to allow our product to meet the challenges of the customers advanced designs and market differentiation.
  • Apply your comprehensive understanding of production planning, control and basic manufacturing systems in order to reduce product related scrap and rework through root cause analysis.
  • Application of Six Sigma/DMAIC methodologies to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive process improvement.
  • Continuous improvement of dimensional processes and implementation of effective process controls.
  • Implement and maintain best practices through all engineering activities.
  • Production planning and control.
  • Troubleshooting manufacturing problems and undertaking root cause analysis with a good understanding of CNC machining, CAD and/or 3D modelling essential.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in using CAE tools for CNC machining, CAD, and 3D modelling.
  • Tooling design and/or CAD experience.
  • Injection moulding and/or ceramics processing experience
  • Degree/HNC or equivalent in Engineering discipline plus 4 years applicable engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to prepare and write reports using Word, Excel and Projects.
  • Excellent organisational and planning

Working Hours:

8am-4pm or 8.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday
