Product Engineer

Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: Competitive

We are recruiting an experienced Product Engineer to join a growing technology business building digital products used by students, employers and education providers.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building high-quality, user-focused digital products. You will work across React, TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs, analytics, experimentation, UX, behavioural insight and AI-assisted development to improve engagement, conversion, usability and product performance.

The role would suit a Product Engineer, Front End Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Software Engineer or Product-focused Developer who wants to work closely with Product Managers, Designers and cross-functional teams to build products that genuinely improve user outcomes.

The role

As a Product Engineer, you will help shape, build and improve digital product experiences across an early careers and talent engagement platform.

You will work at the intersection of engineering, product, UX and data, taking ownership of initiatives from concept through to launch, measurement and optimisation.

This is not just a feature-delivery role. You will be expected to think commercially, understand user behaviour, measure impact and help improve product outcomes through continuous iteration.

You will help create fast, intuitive, accessible and mobile-first experiences for a Gen Z audience, while maintaining strong engineering standards, clean code and scalable product architecture.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
