About Dex
Dex is an AI recruiter agent that helps you run your job search. Tell Dex your stack, seniority, and what you want to build. We will manage your applications and surface other opportunities that are a fit.
The Company
This company sits at a unique vantage point in the hiring ecosystem: between the candidate market and the ATS. They see candidates before they enter an employer's system and track what happens after. This position, combined with recent institutional funding, allows them to build a new generation of AI-powered Talent Agents that redefine enterprise hiring.
The Role Details
This isn't a greenfield AI project or a generic chatbot role. You'll be the second Product Engineer in a new agents pod, owning the core Talent Agent Engine and building the control plane (Studio) for configuring and experimenting with agents. This means shipping production-grade AI agents for high-stakes enterprise hiring, with live agents already scoring applications for major brands and interviewing candidates for others. The bar for 'looks right' is far higher than a typical AI product; you're building infrastructure for critical workflows with real legal and brand exposure.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Work
- Own the core Talent Agent Engine: orchestrate model calls, handle intent classification, context loading, routing, and validation for high-stakes hiring workflows.
- Ship new AI agents from roadmap to production, and continuously improve existing ones already live with major enterprise clients.
- Build out "Studio," the control plane for configuring, experimenting with, and evaluating agent performance.
- Shape the voice pipeline for new agents, like the Interview Agent currently in active build.
- Design and implement feedback loops that ensure every agent cycle improves, moving beyond "looks right" to verifiable, production-grade performance.
What You Bring
- Proven experience shipping AI agents in production environments, not just POCs, understanding failure modes and scaling challenges.
- Deep familiarity with modern agentic stacks (e.g., Vercel AI SDK or similar) and stateful primitives (e.g., Cloudflare Durable Objects, Workflows).
- Expertise in orchestrating tool use, designing memory, handling retries, instrumenting observability, and building robust evaluation pipelines.
- Full-stack proficiency: React, TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2, and the ability to operate across the entire stack.
- A bias for shipping and a curiosity that translates into prototypes and benchmarks, not just research.
