About Precision Microbubbles

Precision Microbubbles is an ambitious new spinout company from Imperial College with a mission to enable non-invasive drug delivery to treat patients with brain and neurological diseases worldwide. We will achieve this by bringing to market our patent pending microfluidic technology to purify microbubbles capable of delivering drugs through the blood brain barrier. We have recently established our new R&D laboratory within the ARC Hammersmith campus in West London. This premium waterfront facility overlooks the River Thames and hosts an innovative and collaborative environment including rooftop terraces and wellbeing & fitness classes.

We are seeking an ambitious self-starter to join as a first hire who will take responsibility for developing our benchtop laboratory control system. This instrument will be a critical component for end-users to operate our single-use microfluidic devices within laboratory settings.

Your Role & Core Responsibilities

In this key technical role, you will drive the end-to-end development of our automated benchtop control system based on current laboratory prototypes. Specifically, your role comprises:

  • Instrumentation & Fluidic Control Systems: You will design the electromechanical components, including fluidic interconnects, sensors, pumps, world-to-chip interfaces, & PCBs, that will deliver fluids and microbubble formulations through our microfluidic devices.
  • User Experience & Automation: Design, implement, and optimise an intuitive, visually polished interface (GUI) that enables laboratory scientists to operate the system with few manual inputs following minimal training.
  • Industrial Design & Aesthetics: Craft a visually appealing casing for laboratory and clinical settings by managing form factor, enclosure design, and material selection.
  • Quality & Compliance Integration: Thoroughly document designs, testing procedures, and experimental logs to ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks and facilitate hand off to manufacturing firms.
  • Laboratory Facility Management: Assist with the operational establishment and management of our new R&D laboratory at ARC West London, Hammersmith.
  • Cross-functional Responsibilities: Take on tasks as needed to support our startup’s operational, research, stakeholder relations, or product development needs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
