Product Engineering Intern

Location: Waterloo London, England - Hybrid - (Tuesday and Wednesday in office)

We are seeking a motivated and technically curious Product Engineering Intern to join our engineering organisation. This role provides hands on experience supporting the design, development, testing, and optimisation of enterprise grade software products.

You will partner with engineers, product managers, QA, and operations teams to assist with real engineering deliverables and gain exposure to modern development practices, tooling, and product lifecycle activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support engineers in developing and validating new product features, enhancements, and prototypes
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including design notes, requirements, test cases, and user flows
  • Participate in daily standups, code reviews, and team syncs
  • Execute functional and regression testing activities; document and validate defects
  • Assist with performance analysis, log review, and troubleshooting during development cycles
  • Help maintain scripts, automation tools, and CI/CD pipeline tasks
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners on release readiness and technical enablement
  • Prepare demo materials, engineering updates, or prototype walkthroughs as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Foundational programming skills (Python, C++, C#, Rust, Go, or similar)
  • Understanding of core engineering concepts (APIs, version control, debugging, agile methodology)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and document technical work
  • Interest in secure software development, or embedded systems
  • Right to work in the UK

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with GitLab or GitHub, Jira, Confluence, or CI/CD tooling
  • Coursework or projects related to cybersecurity, automation, or embedded systems
  • Ability to interpret system logs, identify issues, or analyse performance data
  • Previous internship or hands on project work in engineering or technology
