Senior Product Counsel (AI) | 6-Month Contract | October 2026 Start
We're partnering with a leading global technology organisation seeking an experienced Product Counsel to join its fast-paced advisory and product-focused legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of artificial intelligence, supporting the development, launch, and scaling of cutting-edge AI products.
You'll partner closely with product, engineering, and technology teams, providing strategic legal guidance across AI initiatives while helping drive successful product launches in a rapidly evolving landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- ✅ Advise product, engineering, and technology teams on AI-related projects and product development initiatives
- ✅ Provide guidance on intellectual property, copyright, open-source licensing, and broader legal risks associated with AI products
- ✅ Support responsible AI development by advising on emerging regulatory and compliance requirements
- ✅ Partner with stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle, from development through to go-to-market
- ✅ Review and advise on marketing materials and external communications relating to new product launches
- ✅ Help navigate complex legal and commercial issues within a fast-moving technology environment
- ✅ Collaborate with business and legal stakeholders during critical launch periods to ensure successful delivery
- ✅ Deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to support strategic decision-making
- ✅ Develop and improve self-service legal resources, automation tools, and scalable legal processes

About You
- ✔ Qualified lawyer with significant experience advising technology businesses
- ✔ Proven Product Counsel experience supporting product launches from concept through to market
- ✔ Strong intellectual property expertise, particularly copyright risk and open-source licensing, including CC-BY-4.0, Apache 2.0, and MIT.
- ✔ Strong understanding of AI-related legal, regulatory, and commercial considerations
- ✔ Experience partnering closely with product, engineering, and technology teams
- ✔ Track record of reviewing product launch communications and marketing materials
- ✔ Experience building scalable legal frameworks, automation solutions, and self-service resources.
- ✔ Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- ✔ Thrives in collaborative, high-growth, fast-paced environments
