At Argos, how we manage our products across their lifecycle is critical to how we deliver for customers and drive strong commercial performance. From planning and trading through to optimisation and exit, this is a space that is constantly evolving as the business grows and changes.
At the centre of that is our Central Merchandising team, bringing together data, insight and cross functional collaboration to shape smarter decisions and continuously improve how we work.
The Product Lifecycle Manager
The Product Lifecycle Manager sits right at the heart of this. It’s a cross functional commercial leadership role, working across product areas to support and challenge merchandising teams to deliver their plans. With a strong focus on improving stock health and driving our working capital position, the role plays a key part in building and embedding best in class merchandising planning and trading principles.
This is a fast moving and varied role with plenty of exposure across the business. You’ll be involved in major projects and transformation activity, working through complexity, prioritising what adds the most value and turning data into clear, compelling insight that drives action. It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing across teams, building strong relationships and making a tangible impact on how the business operates.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
