About Malted Malted builds specialised customer interaction intelligence for financial institutions. Our platform combines advanced language technology with deep domain understanding to help firms make faster, more accurate decisions. Our proprietary technology, purpose-built for financial services, uncovers signals that generic AI misses, distilling intelligence into insights faster, more efficiently and more securely than anyone else. We’re a small, passionate, and highly technical team based in Edinburgh, combining deep machine learning experience with a rigorous approach to product design and engineering.
What you'll do As the first Product Manager at Malted, you'll work directly with the CEO to help turn product vision into reality. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who loves execution as much as strategy. You'll work across engineering, AI, design and customer-facing teams to gather customer feedback, help shape the roadmap, enable squads to move quickly, and ensure we're consistently delivering products that create value for customers. Work closely with the CEO to execute product strategy, shape the roadmap and translate company priorities into actionable plans. Gather and synthesise feedback from customers, commercial teams, engineering and AI researchers into clear product opportunities and roadmap priorities. Give delivery teams the customer context, requirements and success criteria they need to ship high-quality products at speed. Create clear product artefacts and documentation that help teams execute effectively. Help prioritise initiatives by scoping and researching customer impact, commercial value, technical complexity and engineering effort. Work directly with enterprise customers and forward deployed teams to validate ideas and refine the product. Track product performance, customer adoption and feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Help build the product function from the ground up, improving our roadmap, tooling, planning and product development processes as the company scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
