Product Manager

The Role

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of technology products that support NextEnergy Group’s asset management and investment management functions. This role sits within Technology & Digital Services (TDS) and acts as a crucial bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering, data, and delivery teams responsible for building the tools they rely on.

You will be responsible for:

  • Understanding how the business manages its renewable energy asset portfolio and how investment performance is tracked, reported, and assessed.
  • Translating these needs into well-scoped, high-value technology products.
  • Owning the roadmap, driving delivery, and ensuring the products created deliver tangible business value.

We are looking for a technology product professional who possesses both commercial awareness and sector expertise to engage credibly with asset management and investment management stakeholders, ask compelling questions, and make strategic product decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and own the product roadmap for technology solutions that serve asset management and investment management, grounded in business priorities and user needs.
  • Create and maintain a transparent, evidence-based roadmap that balances business outcomes, technical constraints, risk, and delivery capacity.
  • Lead build vs. buy assessments for tools like asset monitoring, performance analytics, and investment reporting, providing a clear rationale for investment decisions.
  • Ensure alignment with NextEnergy Group’s strategic goal of becoming a data-driven, technology-led business.

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements

  • Work closely with asset management and investment management teams to understand workflows, pain points, and priorities.

  • Translate business requirements into clear product specifications for engineering teams.

  • Develop sufficient knowledge of the renewable energy sector (asset performance, monitoring, and reporting) to hold informed conversations without needing extensive further education.

  • Understand the commercial and financial context of the business (asset returns, performance measurement, and investor reporting) to ensure product decisions drive measurable value.

  • Conduct discovery workshops, user research, and stakeholder align.

  • Management to validate requirements before development begins.

  • Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, providing regular updates on progress, trade-offs, and timelines.

Product Delivery

  • Break down strategy into product epics and user stories, with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Manage the product backlog in Azure DevOps.
  • Lead agile ceremonies with cross-functional teams, coordinate with PMO on dependencies, and timelines, and manage communications.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery, escalating risks and blockers promptly.
  • Oversee user enablement and adoption of new products and system enhancements.

AI & Analytics

  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI and analytics into asset management and investment reporting tools, such as:
    • Automated performance analytics
    • Data-driven decision support systems
    • Operational efficiency enhancements
  • Collaborate with data and AI teams to define requirements and ensure responsible use of operational and financial data.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
