Product Manager
Department: Product
Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Description
We’re looking for a Product Manager to help shape the direction of Bede’s product offering and play a key role in how we continue to evolve our platform for customers.
This is a customer-facing product role with a strong focus on product strategy, roadmap development, market insight and commercial value. You’ll work closely with customers, Product Owners, delivery teams and senior stakeholders to understand what matters most, turn insight into clear product direction, and help bring new ideas and improvements to life.
You’ll be someone who enjoys getting close to the market, building strong relationships, and thinking about the full end-to-end product experience. You’ll use data, customer feedback and industry knowledge to make informed decisions, champion product excellence, and help ensure Bede’s products continue to deliver value for both our customers and the business.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop a product strategy for your SME area that aligns with Bede’s broader vision and goals. Create and manage the Bede Product Roadmap for respective product areas, maintaining and curating the Portfolio Backlog. Define high-level requirements and contribute towards proposals for new product initiatives. Take ownership of the full end-to-end journey for the products and services within your domain. Utilise data insights to identify areas of strength and weakness for Bede’s products and services, making recommendations accordingly. Set clear KPIs to measure the success of new features when introducing them into the product. Understand operator revenues, marketing strategy and strategic goals, including how new initiatives will impact these revenues. Manage, track and approve changes to your product portfolio as a Project Sponsor. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to maximise value to Bede. Keep up to date with industry and market shifts, including technological advances, competitor awareness and regulatory changes. Create awareness of Bede’s products with customers to ensure they make the most of their usage. Lead the Bede Feedback Forums with operators, turning product feedback and insights into iterative improvements. Develop pre-sales materials, conduct product demos for prospective new clients and act as an ambassador for Bede. Provide support, guidance and product expertise during the post-sales process and beyond to both internal and external stakeholders. Have a thorough understanding of third-party integrations available in the market and the benefits of each, providing recommendations to operators based on this knowledge. Review and respond to incoming Change Requests in a timely manner, working alongside Business Analysts and Technical Leads where appropriate. Collaborate with Product Owners on feature documentation, product user guide creation and shared understanding of the product and its direction. Travel is required for customer visits, sales pitches and trade shows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
