Product Manager. Analytik Jena & SYKAM
Location: Home Based or Stockport, Cheshire (Hybrid)
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum + up to £15,000 OTE + Company Benefits

SciMed is looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Product Manager to lead the growth of our Analytik Jena and SYKAM product portfolios across the UK and Ireland.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with two globally recognised manufacturers of analytical instrumentation, supporting laboratories across academia, industry, environmental testing, pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, energy and research.
As Product Manager, you will become the technical and commercial expert for your product range, working closely with customers, suppliers, our sales team and marketing department to develop new business opportunities, provide technical guidance and deliver outstanding customer support.

About the Role
This is far more than a traditional Product Manager position.
You'll become the face of the Analytik Jena and SYKAM product ranges throughout the UK and Ireland, supporting both existing and prospective customers throughout the entire sales journey.
Working closely with our Sales Director, Technical Support Engineers, Marketing Team and international supplier partners, you'll be responsible for developing product strategy, identifying market opportunities and helping laboratories find the right analytical solution for their application.
You'll spend your time working from home, visiting customer laboratories, attending exhibitions, delivering product demonstrations, supporting installations, providing technical presentations and collaborating with suppliers to ensure SciMed continues to grow within these exciting markets.

Product Portfolio
You'll be responsible for promoting and supporting technologies including:
- ICP-OES
- ICP-MS
- Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)
- Total Organic Carbon (TOC)
- Total Nitrogen (TNb)
- Carbon, Nitrogen, Sulphur and Chlorine Analysis
- High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Ion Chromatography (IC)
- Laboratory Automation
- Analytical Software Solutions
You'll receive full product training directly from our manufacturing partners together with ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
As Product Manager, you will:
- Take ownership of the Analytik Jena and SYKAM product portfolio throughout the UK and Ireland.
- Develop and implement product strategies that drive sales growth.
- Support the sales team with technical expertise during customer visits.
- Deliver product demonstrations, seminars and technical presentations.
- Provide application advice to customers across multiple scientific sectors.
- Build long-term relationships with universities, research institutes and industrial laboratories.
- Identify new market opportunities and emerging applications.
- Work closely with supplier product managers and technical specialists.
- Support marketing campaigns including webinars, exhibitions, case studies and digital content.
- Attend UK exhibitions, conferences and customer events.
- Prepare quotations and assist with tender opportunities where required.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
- Assist with forecasting and business planning.
- Deliver product training for internal colleagues and external customers.
- Ensure excellent customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Travel throughout the UK and Ireland with occasional international travel for supplier meetings and product training.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with excellent communication skills.
You'll enjoy speaking with scientists, understanding laboratory workflows and helping customers solve analytical challenges.
You'll be confident presenting to groups, working independently and managing your own workload while remaining a collaborative member of the wider SciMed team.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biochemistry or another relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience working with analytical laboratory instrumentation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to build long-term customer relationships.
- Self-motivated and organised.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland.
