Product Manager (AI & Workflow) – Near Edinburgh (Hybrid) – £90K+ Bonus

Lorien’s long-standing client, a leader in their industry with a growing and award-winning product line making a global impact near Edinburgh, is seeking a Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of AI-enabled diagnostic software and workflow solutions. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad ownership of the product lifecycle, from strategic roadmap definition to launch readiness and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will collaborate across technical, clinical, quality, and commercial teams to turn market insights and user needs into clear, well-defined product requirements. You’ll thrive in a highly regulated software environment, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and regulatory expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the roadmap for AI and workflow products, ensuring alignment with:
    • Business goals
    • Customer needs
  • Translate market insights, clinical feedback, and user requirements into clear product plans and specifications
  • Lead product planning across:
    • Scope
    • Priorities
    • Milestones
    • Dependencies
    • Release activity
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including:
    • Software
    • Data
    • Clinical
    • Quality
    • Regulatory
    • Security
    • Service
    • Commercial stakeholders
  • Own backlog priorities, support:
    • Release governance
    • Readiness decisions
    • Change control
  • Drive risk management across product delivery, including:
    • Performance
    • Compliance
    • Cybersecurity
    • Privacy
    • Continuity
  • Support clinical evidence planning and regulatory submissions by ensuring:
    • Product inputs are complete
    • Documentation is fit for purpose
  • Contribute to data governance:
    • Model development
    • Monitoring
    • Product performance
  • Support business case development, budgeting, and commercial planning for:
    • Software
    • Subscription-based offerings
  • Shape product positioning, internal communication, and go-to-market readiness for:
    • New releases
    • Enhancements
  • Use customer feedback and post-release insight to improve:
    • Usability
    • Efficiency
    • Workflow integration
  • Lead stakeholder discussions, ensuring:
    • Decisions are captured
    • Actions and risks are progressed

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Equivalent tenure and/or degree in:
    • Technical/scientific discipline
    • Business-related field
    • Preferably: Advanced qualification in biomedical/computer science/data science
  • Strong understanding of:
    • AI and Machine Learning concepts
      • Datasets
      • Validation
      • Performance measures
      • Monitoring
      • Risk considerations
  • Proven track record in:
    • Product/Project Management in:
      • AI
      • MedTech-oriented software
      • Diagnostics/digital health
      • Workflow-oriented products
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
    • Regulated healthcare software environments
  • Experience working with:
    • Cross-functional teams in complex product settings
    • Influencing senior stakeholders
  • Familiarity with:
    • Clinical evidence generation
    • Regulated development standards (e.g., ISO/IEC)
  • Technical grasp of:
    • Interoperability (e.g., DICOM, HL7, FHIR)
    • Workflow integration (e.g., PACS, EHR-linked environments)
  • Understanding of:
    • Cloud delivery models
    • Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, strategic yet hands-on environment
