We are seeking to recruit a Product Manager, Biometrics & Passenger Verification to join our team. This is a remote* role based in the UK.

In this rapidly evolving environment, Collins Aerospace is always looking for new ways to disrupt the status quo, go to market faster, and optimize customer experiences. We are seeking an experienced candidate to help lead this mission. This specific role will be focused on digital identity, biometrics & passenger verification products within our airports division.

The Product Manager

The Product Manager has a crucial role in the development team with accountability for the overall success of the product line including its market share, profitability, feature stack and security posture. This role drives the product lifecycle from conceptualisation to market delivery by acting as the general manager of the product. You will own the product execution plan driving growth and innovation. Continuously gather data on customer needs, the market, competitors, industry trends, using this data to make informed decisions for your product line.

The ideal candidate will have big ideas and strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and creativity. An entrepreneurial mindset for distilling business value and goals into the product vision and road map. Working alongside your peers within the product organisation, you will foster a portfolio-first mindset, deepening levels of collaboration, ensuring decision making within your product line will complement and elevate the wider portfolio.

What You Will Do:

  • Customer Engagement & Market Discovery: Act as a trusted advisor to existing airport operators globally. Taking careful ownership of their current pain points, understanding how they use their current solutions, collaborating to shape the evolution of our product lines.
  • Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end product strategy for your solutions, ensuring that your road maps prioritise market needs, customer requirements, operating efficiencies and the broader portfolio's success. Actively manage the ongoing road map for any existing legacy products, ensuring they continue to deliver value during transformational phases.
  • Mentorship: Lead agile, product-led execution by working side-by-side with your teams, championing a value-driven product culture and an innovative mindset that serves the wider portfolio. Encouraging shared goals and cross-collaboration of teams across the UK, the US, and India.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive alignment across our teams including Engineering, Product Owners, Program Management, Sales/Business Development, Marketing, Finance, Contracts, and Legal. Equip our global sales, account management, and customer success teams with the correct value propositions and collateral to confidently support existing clients and clearly communicate the future vision.
  • Decision Making & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level decision-making and approvals, ensuring transparency and alignment with business goals. Hold authority on product development, sustainability, pricing and prioritisation, Making high-level decisions in collaboration with key business stakeholders.
  • Profit & Loss Accountability: Own financial success metrics including product profitability, cost management, and investment returns.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Be responsible for overall product business case, Strategic Financial Plan (SFP), and Annual Operating Plan (AOP). Actively managing both CAPEX and OPEX spend to ensure sustainable growth and profitability for the broader business.

Skills / Experience You Must Have:

  • Proven experience within Product Lifecycle Management and agile development practices.
  • Proficiency using product and engineering tooling (such as Aha! Road maps, Azure DevOps, Product board, or Jira) to plan customer needs and manage quarterly delivery expectations.
  • Experience creating business cases including financial metrics such as product profitability, cost management, and investment returns. Understanding of business value related to product functionality.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills to work with large global teams, build trust, drive cross-functional collaboration and overcome conflicting priorities.
  • A bias towards action. Must be able to get around roadblocks and stay focused on delivering successful product outcomes.
  • Demonstrable financial acumen, with a track record of successfully managing a product P&L, including the strategic allocation and tracking of CAPEX and OPEX budgets.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Preferred background in technologies that are centred around airport operations. With exposure to products that have both hardware and software components, deployed in both on-premise and cloud-based environments.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or prior relevant experience.
