About Apron
Apron is building something game-changing.
Founded in 2021, Apron set out to help SMBs win. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy, yet the systems they rely on (particularly around payments) are slow, manual and not built for them. The biggest threat to small business is cash flow, often stemming from a gap between the demand payments put on owners and the aptitude to make the payments effectively.
Apron changes that. We are closing the gap by digitising and simplifying the payments process: capturing invoices, issuing expense cards, paying and getting paid, all in one place.
We have grown fast over the past few years, expanding our team to circa 100 individuals across the UK, Germany, Spain and more. We are backed by Index Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Zinal Grow and Tony Fadell and we’ve raised $50m.
The ambition from here is not incremental growth. Apron is building a category-defining, global fintech business with a clear path to significant revenue scale and international expansion. The next phase requires not just great products and ambition, but a world-class Product team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Apron help businesses capture and reconcile invoices, pay suppliers, run payroll and manage employee spend in one place.
As a product-led company, our PM's bring building, selling, and operating the product together. It'll be up to you to pull together everything required to ship and run a product customers love.
This role will work on our product Capture, and is for someone early in their product career. If you're excited to have a lot of ownership while remaining in the details day to day, this could be a great fit.
What you'll do
- Build a sharp, first-hand understanding of our customers and market through interviews, competitive research, and data, and use it to drive the team to the right calls
- Get engineers and designers as close to customer needs as you are, so they can make great product calls
- Own how new features show up for customers, from positioning to launch copy
- Work across ops and support domains to make sure the product succeeds in customers' hands
What you'll need
- 3-5 years of total working experience, of which 0-2 could be in product.
- We're also open to consulting, engineering, operations, design or customer-facing backgrounds.

- Deep curiosity about the world of small business owners and how payments actually work
- Strong bias to action and ownership
- Hands-on experience with varied data sets

- Building. We believe outcomes ship from the people who own them.
