We are seeking an Ecosystem Strategy and Portfolio Manager to define and drive the evolution of HID reader platforms to connect, align, and integrate across these environments. This role sits at the intersection of Product Management, Sales, Platform Architecture, and Engineering, with strong exposure to external partners and ecosystem stakeholders. HID’s IDT Reader Business Unit is consolidating multiple legacy portfolios into a unified platform strategy across embedded modules, desktop readers, mobile devices, and associated software and cloud services.
As this portfolio evolves, ensuring seamless interoperability across both internal platforms and the broader identity ecosystem is critical. This includes defining and driving how Reader BU platforms are aligned with and integrate seamlessly into adjacent systems such as credentials, controllers, authentication providers, and partner platforms, working closely with other Business Units, and Global Engineering teams to align requirements, architectures, and integration models.
The position requires a combination of industry understanding, business planning, technical depth, strategic thinking, and cross-functional influence to federate multiple product lines into a consistent and scalable integration model. It plays a key role in driving platform convergence by ensuring integration, reuse, and ecosystem requirements are built into future platform architectures from the outset. The objective is to ensure HID platforms are easy to integrate, consistent to deploy, and built on shared, scalable foundations.

Identification Technologies (IDT): IDT is creating trusted identities for IoT applications through Smart Components and Enabling Services. HID’s Identification Technologies powers the trusted identities of the world’s people, places and things through smart components and cloud services. Our contactless identification and sensing (RFID, NFC, and BLE) components and solution enabling technologies address the dynamic requirements across multiple industries to wirelessly connect, identify, collect and manage data quickly and accurately across virtually any IoT application.
Essential Duties :
Define and drive how Reader BU platforms are aligned with and integrate into internal systems and adjacent ecosystems. Develop business cases for new platform or integration investments. Influence future platform definitions by ensuring integration, interoperability, reuse, and ecosystem requirements are built in from the outset. Align product managers, platform architects, and engineering teams around common integration principles, standards, and priorities. Work closely with Global Engineering leadership to align on architectural decisions, integration frameworks, and platform priorities. Define cross-platform requirements early to prevent fragmentation and ensure consistency across product lines. Define and drive shared cross-platform roadmap priorities to ensure reuse, consistency, and convergence across Reader BU platforms. Drive reuse of common components, services, and integration frameworks across platforms, reducing duplication and accelerating time to market. Work with close colleagues to establish a coherent model for how devices, firmware, SDKs, APIs, and cloud services interact across platforms. Ensure a consistent and scalable developer and integration experience across all reader platforms. Define how Reader BU platforms integrate with external ecosystems, partners, and enterprise architectures. Act as the central point of coordination for cross-product and cross-BU integration topics and dependencies. Define monetization strategies for integration capabilities, including APIs, services, and ecosystem participation. Contribute to relevant industry standards bodies and alliances to ensure alignment and interoperability of Reader BU platforms. Maintain a strong understanding of technology trends, competitive ecosystems, and evolving integration models. Gather customer, partner, and field feedback to identify integration gaps and prioritize improvements. Manage integration capabilities across their full lifecycle, from concept through delivery and continuous improvement. Support go-to-market activities with clear positioning, messaging, and enablement around integration capabilities.

Essential Qualifications
Experience in RFID, identification technologies, or adjacent domains. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field; equivalent experience considered. Strong experience in system integration, APIs, SDKs, or platform-based product environments. Familiarity with enterprise architectures, IoT ecosystems, and multi-product platform environments. Understanding of device security, credential management, secure elements, and authentication frameworks. Knowledge of PKI, key management, or IoT security models is a strong plus. Experience working with or contributing to industry standards and ecosystem alliances is preferred. Proven ability to influence across global, cross-functional teams without direct authority. Comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed technical levels. Experience working in agile development environments (SAFe is a plus).
