Product Manager - Prime Product & Margin

Director, Cross Product Margin (CPM) – Prime Finance

About the Role

Citi’s Markets division is one of the world’s leading providers of financial products and services across fixed income, equities, currencies, commodities, and prime finance. Within this division, Prime Finance serves as critical infrastructure for hedge funds and institutional clients, offering financing, securities lending, margin, and portfolio solutions across asset classes.

This role is a Director-level opportunity focused on Cross Product Margin (CPM)—a strategically vital and technically complex area at the heart of Citi’s margin management for institutional clients. The successful candidate will lead product management, driving the design, development, and implementation of cross-asset margin frameworks and the underlying technology.

This is a high-visibility position with direct engagement with senior stakeholders across business, technology, and risk functions. It offers the opportunity to shape a capability central to Citi’s competitive edge in prime brokerage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product lifecycle for Cross Product Margin (CPM) capabilities, translating complex methodologies (e.g., scenario-based, VaR, and Expected Shortfall frameworks) into scalable, well-defined product requirements for technology delivery.
  • Define and drive the strategic roadmap for CPM infrastructure, integrating execution, clearing, and margin technology into a cohesive, globally harmonised architecture across asset classes.
  • Act as the primary subject-matter expert on cross-asset margin frameworks, including:
    • Portfolio-level offsets
    • Concentration add-ons
    • Liquidity haircuts
    • Regulatory overlays for equities, fixed income, FX, futures, and cleared derivatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Trading, Risk, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to align margin product design with commercial objectives and requirements, including:
    • FINRA Rule 4210
    • Regulation T and ISDA/CSA mechanics
    • Evolving central clearing mandates
  • Engage directly with institutional clients and internal stakeholders to identify margin optimisation opportunities, articulate product capabilities, and support client-facing tools and reporting.
  • Drive governance and prioritisation of cross-functional technology programmes, ensuring delivery against timelines and commercial milestones in a multi-stakeholder environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
