Description
We're looking for a commercially aware and strategic Retail Product Manager with a strong equestrian background to join our Retail Procurement team. This role would suit someone with a proven track record in equestrian procurement, buying, category management, or sales, who understands the needs of equestrian customers and is passionate about delivering a market-leading product range.
About The Role
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
As a Retail Product Manager, you’ll lead a portfolio of retail product categories, managing performance and supporting the delivery of our business plan. You’ll negotiate with suppliers, develop category strategies, and ensure competitive pricing and strong availability.

Key responsibilities include:
- Developing annual business plans for each category, including sales strategy and margin targets
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships and negotiating terms
- Monitoring category sales and stock levels to ensure availability and customer satisfaction
- Coordinating sales campaigns with Marketing and Operations teams
- Analysing product performance, market trends, and competitor activity to inform decisions
- Managing and coaching Buying Assistants to support their development
About You
- Strong equestrian knowledge and a genuine passion for the equestrian sector
- Proven track record in equestrian procurement, buying, category management, or sales
- A good understanding of market trends
- Commercially aware with the ability to identify opportunities to drive sales, profitability, and product performance within equestrian categories
- Proven track record in managing margins and P&L
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills
- Proficient in IT systems and Microsoft Excel
- Confident decision-maker with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Collaborative team player who builds strong relationships and adapts well under pressure
