Product Manager - Space & Assortment

Space & Assortment Product Manager – Role Description

Summary

As the Space & Assortment Product Manager, your mission is to design and deliver cohesive tools and services that empower business stakeholders to manage ranging, assortment, space, and display planning effectively.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Eliminating existing manual/parallel processes, exceptions, and duplication to enhance operational efficiency within the Food Group and expand capability across Fashion, Home & Beauty.
  • Defining the strategy for your team, crafting a roadmap and prioritised backlog to meet business goals.
  • Aligning with yearly/quarterly objectives and success metrics accountable to both you and your teams.
  • Collaborating with ‘BAU’ Product Squads, programme teams, and internal/external stakeholders to execute strategy and optimise processes.
  • Actively shaping the team structure while ensuring accountability for the domain and serving as the key subject matter expert within Foods Design & Technology (D&T).

What You’ll Do

  • Define and influence product vision to optimise business outcomes, balancing customer needs, product health, and industry trends—while ensuring resilient, scalable solutions across Marks & Spencer (M&S).
  • Collaborate with partners to sync business, product, and technical priorities, guiding direction and promoting the roadmap.
  • Prioritise and manage the backlog, breaking down user stories, features, and functionality to resolve pain points and improve customer deliverables.
  • Partner with a cross-functional squad (Analysts, Engineers, UX/UI Designers) across product lifecycle stages, defining and tracking success metrics while ensuring alignment.
  • Oversee business case development, DevOps processes, and launch readiness; stay ahead of industry trends and chase innovation opportunities to maintain M&S’s leadership in ranging, space, and display solutions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
