Our Organization
The Athena Platform technology team, within our Corporate & Investment Bank, is responsible for building digital products that deliver best in class solutions for trade and risk management consistently across JPMorgan’s Markets businesses. Our products range from Core platform capabilities including distributed object storage, data streaming and an integrated development environment to business components including trade, risk, market data and reference data services and UI frameworks. Our team consists of Product Managers, Delivery Leads and Developers. The team is thoughtful in balancing due diligence with speed to market and creativity with discipline to produce best-in-class, efficient, thoughtful digital solutions for our clients.
Job Description
As Product Owner for Trade Management in the Athena Platform team, you’ll partner with Athena Platform engineering teams, line-of-business engineers, operations and front office to define our product strategy and roadmap for our Trade Management frameworks and applications, ranging from trade capture, UI tooling, data modelling and trade lifecycle processing. You will ensure that the platform meets business needs across Markets and beyond through understanding our product capabilities and how businesses use them. Using your software engineering and product management experience, you will prioritize technical features to help solve business problems in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other Product Owners, Engineering and Business teams to define and prioritize technical product features and enhancements for the Athena Trade Management stack, considering cross-Markets capabilities with the nuances of line of business requirements.
- Manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder needs.
- Lead the development and delivery of platform capabilities, to clearly defined Objectives and Key Results, using automated KPIs to measure success.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other product managers, engineers and the business to ensure timely and efficient delivery of digital solutions.
- Balance due diligence with speed to market, and creativity with discipline, to produce efficient and thoughtful digital solutions for our clients.
- Leverage the capabilities of AI both as part of how it can aid the development of products and support end-user facing features.
- Engage with stakeholders to drive adoption of our strategic capabilities, gather feedback and continuously improve product offerings.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
- Software engineering experience including writing code in an object-oriented language.
- Experience working in a financial markets company such as an investment bank, ideally with a strong understanding of trade lifecycle including trade capture UIs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Confidence leveraging AI tooling such as co-pilot and Claude code to optimise workflows and reduce time to market.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Able to deliver a compelling strategy and vision that results in stakeholder buy-in and action.
- Sound judgement, the ability to determine what to prioritise and what to not prioritise.
- Experience as a Product Owner or a strong desire to move into this role.
- Self-driven with a curiosity to learn and improve.
