Product Manager (Aurora Platform) – REMOTE / HYBRID

Location: Remote / Hybrid Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Grade: Associate Partner

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and ambitious Product Manager to shape the future of our Aurora software platform.

Aurora is our in-house pensions administration suite, serving internal administrators, clients, and members. It encompasses a multi-faceted software ecosystem, including both internal and external technology solutions.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Define long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
  • Deliver high-quality solutions for internal and external customers.
  • Drive strategic product delivery while collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Key Stakeholders: You will report to the Senior Product Manager and work closely with cross-functional teams to guide the ongoing development and evolution of Aurora.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Vision

  • Define and refine the Aurora technology vision and long-term strategy in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain a clear, prioritised product roadmap for Aurora and associated products.
  • Leverage market research, competitor analysis, and data-driven insights to refine strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • Set KPIs and implement performance monitoring to assess Aurora’s success and guide future enhancements.
  • Champion:
    • Continuous technology improvement and automation.
    • A Digital-First strategy for both internal and external administration processes.
    • Exceptional user experience and accessibility.

  • Build business and stakeholder awareness of Aurora’s strategy, vision, and roadmap.

Delivery & Execution

  • Execute Aurora’s strategy and roadmap alongside the Senior Product Manager, Product Owners, and delivery teams, including:

    • Managing roadmap priorities.
    • Defining, implementing, and refining new requirements.
    • Writing user stories and defining success criteria.
    • Designing test plans for new releases.
    • Mitigating delivery risks.
    • Aligning release plans with business needs.
  • Work with Project Managers to:

    • Manage stakeholder/external client expectations on requirements and timelines.
    • Oversee product backlogs and deliver on stakeholder expectations.
  • Communicate new releases to key stakeholders and clients.

  • Lead internal and external demonstrations of new features.

Additional Responsibilities: Occasionally, the role may require ad-hoc projects of a similar nature aligned with the company’s evolving needs.


Essential Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Proven Product Manager experience, ideally managing multiple products for diverse user groups.
  • Strong grasp of modern technologies and Agile/DevOps methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with:
    • Developers
    • Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
    • Senior executives
    • External clients
  • Capacity to coordinate and deliver product rollouts across multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Attention to customer feedback, translating insights into product improvements.
  • Use of data and analytics to drive data-driven product decisions.
  • Proactive, creative problem-solver adept at navigating challenges innovatively.

Desirable Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with UK pensions administration and pension products.
