About the Role

The Product Manager, Data and Analytics is responsible for defining, evolving, and communicating the business value of Wiley Online Library and related services through a data-driven approach. This role focuses on:

  • Developing innovative ideas rooted in both quantitative and qualitative insights
  • Identifying platform and customer challenges via data analysis
  • Offering evidence-based recommendations on product value
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer needs, data strategy, and operational efficiency
  • Acting as the primary ambassador for the service—engaging internally with colleagues across the organisation and externally with diverse customer groups

The Product Manager, Data and Analytics translates data-driven insights and business cases into tangible requirements that benefit end-users, partners, and customers. Multi-disciplinary responsibilities include:

  • Defining success metrics and measurement frameworks
  • Establishing reporting practices to inform key decision-making
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for analytics, business intelligence, and engineering stakeholders
  • Ensuring delivered features meet agreed-upon scope, quality, and scalability, with balanced investment in analytics adoption
  • Overseeing the lifecycle of features from discovery through development, testing, and acceptance

Responsibilities

  • Solution Leadership: Champion products and solutions that deliver quantifiable, sustained value for customers, balancing high-impact priorities with critical operational demands.
  • Data Translation: Convert raw data into "genius insights" that enable better decision-making and product roadmap prioritisation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead cross-functional discussions, building alignment and driving collective ownership of business solutions through evidence.
  • Strategic Innovation: Leverage data to explore new follow-on solutions, driving long-term growth beyond incremental improvements.
  • Automation Advantage: Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and human bias through data-driven process improvement.
  • Learning Culture: Share knowledge, champion training, and upskill colleagues around data literacy and effective data utilisation.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in Product Management combined with strong data-analytics experience, proficient in tools like Power BI and Adobe Analytics.
  • Ability to apply data-driven insights and business best practices to refine processes and workflows.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, transforming complex business challenges into clear paths forward.
  • Demonstrated track record of working independently with minimal oversight—thriving in an environment of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Effectiveness as a mentor and Internal Knowledge Expert, sharing insights with more junior colleagues to elevate team capability.
