Product Manager, Email Services
£300 per day, inside IR35
Initial six-month contract, with potential to extend
Manchester, Blackpool or Leeds
BPSS clearance required
Previous experience working within a UK government organisation is essential.
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to take responsibility for a critical email service and support the ongoing rollout of New Outlook across a large UK government organisation. This is a complex, business-critical service that impacts colleagues across the organisation. The successful candidate will need strong email service management experience, alongside the ability to understand user needs, manage competing priorities and work with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the ongoing delivery and performance of a large-scale email service.
- Support the rollout of New Outlook across the organisation.
- Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap, priorities and delivery plan.
- Understand user needs and ensure these are reflected in service improvements.
- Work closely with technical teams, security specialists, delivery colleagues and senior stakeholders.
- Manage risks, dependencies and issues affecting the email service.
- Support decision-making around email hygiene, data loss prevention and service security.
- Monitor service performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate progress, challenges and priorities clearly to stakeholders.
- Ensure the service continues to meet operational and organisational requirements.

Essential Experience
- Previous Product Management experience within a UK government organisation.
- Strong experience managing enterprise email services.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, including New Outlook.
- Experience supporting a large-scale technology rollout or service migration.
- Understanding of email hygiene and data loss prevention.
- Strong user-centred product management experience.
- Experience managing a live, business-critical digital or technology service.
- Ability to work effectively with technical, security and operational teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience prioritising requirements and managing complex delivery dependencies.

Location and Travel
Candidates should be based within reasonable travelling distance of Manchester, Blackpool or Leeds, with Manchester preferred. There is no fixed minimum on-site requirement. However, attendance will be expected for important meetings, workshops and project events. Infrequent travel to Manchester or Leeds may also be required.

- Initial contract of at least six months.
